Volunteer TODAY!!

NAMI Central Georgia is looking for all types of volunteers.  To find out more information or volunteer, email us at Volunteer TODAY or call us at (478) 328-0508!

NAMI Central Georgia, Inc. is excited to offer both graduate and undergraduate students an opportunity to have hands-on experience in mental health through internships. We have had a variety of majors participate in our internship program including- behavioral health, psychology, sociology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling, etc.  Student interns have the opportunity to work side by side with staff and supervisors and come into daily direct contact with the mental health consumers in our personal care home and in the community. Student interns also have opportunities to participate in outreach events, collaborative meetings, community awareness events, and continuing education opportunities.  Click on the PDF link to access the internship application.  Ideally, we ask that all interns submit an application three weeks prior to starting their internship program.

NAMI Central Georgia, Inc. is an official community service completion site through the Georgia Department of Community Supervision. Probationers, with non-violent offenses, are permitted to complete their community service hours at NAMI Central Georgia.  Probationers will participate in landscaping, yard maintenance, general labor activities, and general housekeeping. Probationers will also be permitted to participate in additional on-going projects or other events that may be on the calendar.

NAMI Central Georgia, Inc. is especially thankful for all of the volunteers we have had throughout the years.  Volunteers have the opportunity to work directly with residents and staff facilitating our routines and daily activities. There is a variety of work that volunteers may participate in including (but not limited to): life skills training, arts & crafts, recreation, fun activities, support groups, fundraising, grant research, and writing, etc.

Once an individual reaches a minimum of 20 documented volunteer hours, NAMI Central Georgia, Inc. will allow the individual to use our affiliate on their resumes, job and college applications, and as a general reference.
